Here in Colorado there is a lot to love about September. It’s the month when temperatures start to get a little cooler, when the earliest leaves start to turn, when everything starts to feel like Autumn instead of Summer.

In the jewelry-making world, there are a lot of things to love about September as well, not least the wonderful birthstone we get to use for this month!

September’s birthstone is the magnificent Sapphire!

Sapphires come in all colors except red (read why in last year’s article celebrating Sapphires), but the most classic and celebrated color of Sapphires are lovely Blue Sapphires.

All the Sapphires I use in my handmade jewelry are Blue Sapphires. In their natural stone form, Sapphires still come in a range of incredible blue hues, though they tend to be more opaque than gem-quality stones used in other jewelry.

Of course, natural stone Sapphire jewelry is just as beautiful as faceted gem jewelry, just in a different way.

Here are some of my favorite September Birthstone jewelry designs. Of course, if you have something else in mind to celebrate September birthdays, you can always commission custom jewelry. Just remember that all my handmade jewelry is crafted to order, so it can take a little time to get your jewelry out for shipping.

The Best September Birthstone Jewelry Gifts

One note. Since I use natural stones, my handmade jewelry is always unique. The stones themselves may have a slightly different color or pattern, but I specifically select stones for each piece of jewelry I create. That way you get a piece of handmade artisanal jewelry that is completely unique to you - and we get to celebrate the beauty of natural stone jewelry, all at the same time!

Sparkling Sapphires Earrings

My Sparkling Sapphires Earrings are a gorgeous addition to any outfit. The dangling earring design is perfect for drawing attention to your face, and is particularly flattering for people with blue eyes. That’s because Sapphires can help bring out the blue color of your eyes to make them even more stunning!

Breaking up my matching Sparkling Sapphires earrings and necklace can also give you more gifting opportunities by splitting them between multiple occasions. So, if you’re looking ahead to Christmas or other winter holidays this year, you can give one part of this jewelry set now, and the next one later this year.

Sparkling Sapphires Necklaces

I have two matching necklaces for you to choose from. First, if you like a bar necklace style, there is my Sparkling Sapphires Necklace. If you prefer an inline style, then checkout my Petite Sapphires Necklace.

Like most of my necklaces, these designs are suitable for both casual and formal occasions. They are the perfect jewelry accessories for anyone who likes a more laid back look.

I love how putting all of the Sapphires together like this somehow makes the blues seem even more intense and really shows off how beautiful Sapphires can be.

Sparkling Sapphires Handmade Jewelry Set

Of course, if you’re looking for a bigger September Birthstone gift, you can give the complete set of handmade Sparkling Sapphire Jewelry to your loved ones.

Raw Beauty Sapphire and Emerald Jewelry Set

Last, but certainly not least, is my Raw Beauty Sapphire and Emerald jewelry set.

Both Sapphires and Emeralds have a long history as some of the most highly prized jewels in the world, and have been used in everything from jewelry to cosmetics since humans first found them.

Since these stones have similar intensity, come in similar shades of blue and green, and even have similar luster, it’s only natural to pair them together. Not to mention that pairing blue and green together are a fantastic reminder of Mother Nature.

This is a perfect set for the nature lovers in your life, or for celebrating September Birthdays with something a little more unique and special.
