There are a lot of styles to choose from, from the glitz and glamor of fine jewelry through to the meaningful connections and styles found in most artisan jewelry.
This year, I’m thinking about how to choose my jewelry to match my mood, the cycles of the seasons, and to bring just a little more happiness into my everyday life. What are your resolutions for the New Year?
Of course, if I’m thinking about how to use jewelry to invite a little more happiness into life, that means that I’ve been thinking about the perfect handmade jewelry for the New Year, and I couldn’t resist sharing some of my ideas with you.
So, whether you’re looking for go-to jewelry for yourself in 2023, or want to give a special someone a present when the clock strikes midnight, here are some of my top ideas for handmade natural stone jewelry this New Year season!
Natural Stone Jewelry For The New Year
Of all the handmade jewelry I have available it was hard to narrow down the options to just a few selections. Some of these made my list because of the look, or because I think they offer a strong symbol or meaning coming into the New Year.
Others are here because I think they are particularly appropriate for the New Year, or just carry messages that I think are important for us to bring with us into 2023.
Of course, your taste and what you want to bring into the New Year might be different from what I’m looking for. If that’s the case, I’d encourage you to explore the rest of Earth Song Jewelry and see what else there is to choose from.
I promise, there’s a little something for everyone here.
Black Moonstone On Leather Bracelet
This bracelet reminds me of the New Year for a couple of reasons. For one thing, it’s a nice reminder of the night sky, Black Moonstone, more properly called Larvikite, is a stone that always reminds me of stars, nebulas, and the look of the full moon.
Since we typically celebrate New Year’s Eve right up until the midnight hour, I like that this bracelet celebrates some of the natural features of space that we can only really see at night.
Now, I know, I know, most people can’t see the stars or the moon from their brightly lit celebrations or inside watching the official countdown on TV. But, that’s just another good reason to bring this reminder of the natural world, and the beautiful things it offers around the clock, with you.
So, if you’re looking for a New Year’s bracelet, my Black Moonstone on Leather bracelet is a great way to go.
Winter And Spring Earrings
In a lot of ways the New Year is all about the changing of the season. Winter is starting to give way to Spring, it’s just starting to get a little warmer, and we’re headed into the part of Winter when the natural world is really gearing up to put on a burst of new growth in the Spring.
Why not celebrate the changing of the seasons while you celebrate the New Year?
That’s really what my Winter And Spring Earrings, made from Emerald and Garnet are all about.
Plus! Bonus Points! Garnet also happens to be January’s birthstone, and since Midnight on New Year’s Eve is also technically the very start of January, these earrings are doubly appropriate.
Copper And Tiger Eye Saucer Earrings
I know a lot of people think of parties and fashion, and events when they think of New Year’s Eve, and it’s no wonder since that’s exactly how a lot of people ring in the New Year, with a big party.
So, I wanted to include something a little more fashionable, a little more eye-catching, in case a big New Year’s party is part of your plans this year.
These Copper and Tiger Eye earrings aren’t too bold or dazzling, but they have just at little bit of extra decoration to help you stand out. Plus, Tiger Eye is all about strength and courage, and I think we could all use a little strength and courage heading into the New Year.
We can all benefit from a little extra confidence that the New Year will be a good year, right?
Garnet Artistic Heart Hoops
I know one of the things a lot of people are looking for every New Years Eve is a little extra love in the coming year. Whether you’re looking for someone special or just to rekindle the love and affection you already have with someone in your life, it’s great when you can put a little extra energy into those relationships around this time of year.
So, with that in mind, these Garnet Heart Hoops are doubly appropriate, since they are both January birthstone jewelry and a beautiful symbol of love and affection for your New Year.
New Years might be about resolutions and moving forward, but I also think it can be about setting your intention for the year. Maybe, just maybe, these handmade earrings will help with that.
Sparkling Garnet Necklace
I had to include at least one set of jewelry that all works together in this list, so I thought why not combine those Garnet Heart Hoops with a necklace that will perfectly complement them, and brings just a little glitter with it as well.
These sparkling Garnets are beautiful, and really show off how good Garnets can look with just a little bit of faceting. Their bright sparkles are why I call this my Sparkling Red Garnets Necklace, and I think it’s a great complement to the Garnet Heart hoops, not simply because they’re both made from garnets, but because Garnets are also a symbol of deep love as well as friendship.
So, in color, beauty, and symbolically, Garnets are a great way to set your sights on romance in the new year.
Azurite Curves Earrings
Of course, me being me, I had to include at least one piece of jewelry that speaks to environmentalism and bringing a commitment to take care of our planet and the environment with us into 2023.
My Azurite Curves Earrings are one of the best ways to do that, in my opinion, because the brilliant greens and blues of natural Azurite always make these stones look like miniature Earths.
Having a commitment to taking care of the planet is one of the best things we can do as individuals to work toward a sustainable future, and I think wearing something that signals your commitment to that important goal is a fantastic way to celebrate the holiday.
Rock Crystal Quartz Necklace
Lastly, this Rock Crystal Quartz Necklace made the list because it’s a fantastic winter necklace thanks to its clear color and icey sparkle, but I also think it looks a bit like the New Year’s ball in New York.
Of course, that isn’t the only reason. Quartz is also thought to increase spiritual wisdom, inspiration, and creativity, which are all things I think we can use in the New Year.
So there you have it! A list of jewelry for the New Year. I hope your celebrations, big or small, are exactly what you need this year, and that you’re able to rest, recuperate, and get ready for Spring, just like the natural world.
