Pretty much everyone knows about Black Friday and Cyber Monday these days, and a lot of the year’s shopping happens the week of these important dates. But have you heard of Green Monday?
There are a few different reasons that Green Monday should make it onto your calendars each year.
- Green Monday is one last chance to get holiday deals before Christmas.
- If you’re getting presents shipped to your home for Christmas, this is often the last day you can order and expect your presents to arrive on time.
- Many stores and eco-friendly retailers offer even better deals on Green Monday to help celebrate and promote efforts to make more eco-friendly products.
- Originally named for a particularly profitable day on e-bay, Green Monday is one of the best days for businesses in terms of their profitability for the year.

Well, there’s no reason to be ashamed because there are so many last minute shoppers in the United States that this whole day was named because of people getting their last minute gifts online. Not only are you not alone in your shopping habits, business owners count on shoppers like you to help their bottom line before the end of the year!
Green Monday is on the 2nd Monday in December every year. This year, that's December 11th!

Of course, here at Earth Song Jewelry there are a couple of reasons we hold Green Monday near and dear. If you’ve been around since last year you probably remember when we were promoting Green Friday instead of Black Friday.
That’s because Earth Song Jewelry is committed to sustainable and eco-friendly business practices, including in our shipping packaging. That way you know that you’re getting Earth-friendly jewelry using environmentally-focused business practices.
In addition to everything I do to make my jewelry more sustainable, like recycling all of the metal scrap from my jewelry and buying natural stones and crystals from reputable suppliers, I am also a proud member of 1% for the Planet.
To be a member of 1% of the Planet, your business has to give at least 1% of your total profits to a member environmental organization. Orgs that qualify with 1% of the Planet have to be able to show that they make a real difference in the world and that their efforts really help the environment. They screen for organizations that essentially provide greenwashing services, or that don’t do anything that makes a noticeable environmental difference.
Since I was already giving to Conservation Colorado, one of the approved organizations for 1% for the Planet, joining 1% for the Planet just made sense!
Is Green Monday The Last Day I Can Order From Earth Song Jewelry And Still Receive Christmas Presents On Time?
No! Usually my shipping times are pretty fast, so you can order from Earth Song Jewelry a little later than a lot of retailers and still get your presents.
However, that does also depend on where you are. If you live in a more remote area you might need longer shipping times since deliveries are less frequent in less populated areas.
If you can’t get shipping from Amazon in 1-3 days, you might need to plan a little extra shipping time.
That said, I do have a counter up at Earth Song Jewelry so that you always know how long you have to order your holiday goodies with plenty of time for crafting and shipping.
