This article is an introduction to the very basics of Chakra, and how chakra jewelry can help you. If you’re already familiar with Chakra you might not need to start here. Instead, feel free to take a look at my Chakra collections to see some of my handmade Chakra jewelry is what you’re looking for.
If you’re still here, welcome! Learning about Chakra and how to use Chakra jewelry to achieve your goals is a great way to support yourself and also express yourself and revel in who you are.
To start with the basics, there are 7 Chakra. These Chakra all have a different role and purpose in your life. When your Chakra are in balance you are more highly connected to yourself and to the world around you. When your Chakra are out of balance or blocked you can experience a wide range of problems, like low confidence, problems expressing yourself, or issues connecting with and understanding your emotions.
What are the Seven Chakra?
The 7 Chakra are:
- Muladhara or Root
- Svadhisthana or Sacral
- Manipura or Solar Plexus
- Anahata or Heart
- Vishuddi or Throat
- Anja or Third Eye (sometimes written 3rd eye)
- Sahasrara or Crown
What Is Rainbow Chakra Jewelry?
Rainbow Chakra jewelry is the most common of Chakra jewelry. It has one stone for each of the seven Chakra. One of the reasons that rainbow Chakra jewelry is called that is that each Chakra is also associated with a color, which means that this jewelry often resembles a rainbow.
However, in natural stone Chakra jewelry the meanings and uses of the stone are more important than the color, though the colors of a stone often correspond to its Chakra. Chakra can also have more than one color. For instance, the Root Chakra is connected to both Black and Red, and the Heart Chakra is both Pink and Green.
Seven Chakra jewelry is what most people wear, and supports all of your Chakra. The specific stones can have different focuses, so there's plenty of room to customize this jewelry to your needs. The goal, however, is always about maintaining the balance between Chakra and helping you better express yourself and feel more connected to the your physical and spiritual self. Chakra jewelry that focuses on one Chakra in particular is often worn to help the wearer address a specific problem with their Chakra, or to address a specific symptom of a Chakra imbalance or blockage.
I’ll talk more about the uses of individual Chakra jewelry in future posts. For now it’s most important to know that 7 Chakra jewelry helps support all of you, through your Chakra, while individual stones and natural stone jewelry can be worn to address more specific problems or promote certain traits in yourself through your Chakra.
If you aren’t sure what kind of Chakra jewelry you’d benefit most from, chances are that you should start with 7 Chakra jewelry and accessories.
Fortunately, that’s precisely where I started with Earth Song Jewelry as well.
I hope you’ll join me as I continue making handmade Chakra jewelry, and posting more about the different Chakra, and how natural stones can be used to support them.
