Aquamarine is a beautiful and particularly well-named stone. The soft pale blue hues, sometimes ranging all the way to clear stones, found in Aquamarine stones, are the perfect reminder of tropical tide pools, icy mountain lakes, and the many glittering blues in glaciers.

Anywhere water is clear and transparent, it has the blues and the shimmer you find in Aquamarine. You could almost think of Aquamarine as crystallized water if you didn’t know better.

When it comes to birthstones, one of the main reasons we use the stones we do is because of their sheer beauty. In the company of the other birthstones, some of the most beautiful stones we’ve ever discovered, Aquamarine is right at home.

That also makes Aquamarine a perfect stone for crafting birthstone jewelry. My handmade birthstone jewelry is all designed to take advantage of Aquamarine’s unique qualities.

I find myself most drawn to opaque Aquamarine stones, the ones that remind me of the packed snow on icy lakes, of the pale blues in a snowbank just starting to compress into ice. It also reminds me of foggy morning skies and the perfect pale blue sky you can see here in Colorado, especially in the Rocky Mountains.

Since this is where I draw inspiration for my handmade jewelry, it’s also the kind of Aquamarine I work with most often for birthstone jewelry.

Here is a quick guide to some of the March birthstone jewelry I create. If you’re looking for a unique gift, something a little different from typical birthstone jewelry, you’ve come to the right place.

I make Aquamarine necklaces and earrings, so I’ve included both in this buying guide. Let’s take a closer look at Aquamarine’s impressive beauty.

Aquamarine Birthstone Jewelry - Celebrate Your March Birthday In Style!

Aquamarine is as varied as any two stones, two people, or two rivers. Every stone is a little different, which means that all Aquamarine jewelry is a little different.

That can be a good thing because it means that every piece of natural stone jewelry is unique, but it also means that you need to have realistic expectations for your jewelry. All of my jewelry photos are carefully chosen to include stones that are a good representation of the stones I use in that design, but the jewelry you receive won’t be an exact copy. The size and shape of the Aquamarine will be identical, but the color and any patterns in the polished stones may be a little different.

With that out of the way, let’s take a closer look at some of this gorgeous Aquamarine birthstone jewelry.

Double Foggy Aquamarine Earrings

These beautiful earrings are made with Sterling Silver and Aquamarine. The stacked beads show off several shades of pale blue with subtle patterns that can be mesmerizing if you take a closer look. The palest blue in these stones gives them their name, looking like fog against a blue sky - thus, Foggy Skies Aquamarine Earrings.

I love the simplicity of this design and the balance between the Aquamarine and the Sterling Silver details. The earring measures ¾ of an inch long and is lightweight enough for daily wear.

Beautiful enough for a formal occasion, these earrings are also understated enough to suit your work wardrobe.

While the Sterling Silver hook earrings are easy to wear, I can also swap earring hooks for lever-back hooks instead. Lever back hooks are an excellent option for people with long hair or who struggle to stop earrings from falling out. I can swap any of my French hook earrings for lever backs instead for a small fee added at checkout.

Sterling Silver and Aquamarine ‘Nests’ Earrings

When it comes to birthstone jewelry, few gifts are more classic than a pair of solitaire earrings. My Sterling Silver Aquamarine Nests are designed to look just like a nest filled with an egg, maybe a robin’s egg in this case!

The silver wire in the earrings is wrapped around the Aquamarine stones with lightweight post backs to make them easy to wear. Comfortable against your ears, these earrings are light enough to almost forget you’re wearing them.

Plus, like all of my Aquamarine stones, these Aquamarine earrings have subtle patterns, like moving clouds, swirling fog, or, yes, the patterns on a robin’s egg.

Like all of my jewelry, including my handmade birthstone jewelry, these earrings are made with hypoallergenic and nickel free materials. I also use high-quality 925 Sterling Silver, not Sterling Silver-plated jewelry supplies, both because pure Silver is more hypoallergenic and also because it protects the jewelry and helps ensure that the earrings will look as good as they do right now for years to come.

Blue Sky Solitaire Aquamarine Necklace

Next to solitaire earrings, solitaire necklaces are classic and beautiful gifts. Necklaces are often used to help make an outfit look more formal, especially when paired with a matching set of necklaces.

My Blue Sky Solitaire Aquamarine necklace is a wonderful pairing for my Sterling Silver Nest Aquamarine earrings.

The large 10mm Aquamarine stones I use for this necklace are eye-catching, but the round shape and soft blue color help keep them from being too ostentatious.

Aside from just being a beautiful March birthstone necklace, this would also be a wonderful traditional gift for your 19th wedding anniversary.

Curves Aquamarine Earrings

If you’re shopping for a hoop earrings lover, these might just be the birthstone earrings for them.

My Curves line of earrings is a slightly different take on classic hoop earrings. Instead of a complete hoop, the curves earrings are a semi-oval, designed to sit comfortably in a standard piercing, with three stones decorating the curve.

In this case, my Aquamarine Curves Earrings show off both the delicate blues of the stones and the bright shine of Sterling Silver.

The earrings are a respectable 1 ½ inches long but still light enough to be comfortable.

Hammered Silver Sticks Aquamarine Earrings

Lastly, my Hammered Sticks Aquamarine Dangling earrings are designed to wear as comfortably as any post earrings, but with a 1-inch drop that adds a touch of drama to the design.

With 8mm stones threaded onto the Sterling Silver dangles, this design is suitable for almost any situation and lightweight enough for even newly pierced ears.

All of my Aquamarine birthstone jewelry is also protected by the same guarantees as all Earth Song Jewelry creations. I make every piece myself. I guarantee I use only 925 Sterling Silver or 935 Argentium® Sterling Silver. You can see the complete list of guarantees on any product page.
