Given Tanzanite's trichroic nature of showing different colors at different lighting and angles, you can imagine it's challenging to capture an "exact" color of these stones with my camera! My current stones are not blue; I think of them as periwinkle, which is blue-violet. To me, they seem to lean more to the violet color under my regular LED ceiling lights.
About The Stone
About Tanzanite
From deep in the foothills of Mount Kilimanjaro in Tanzania comes Tanzanite, a gemstone with only a single known source that has become one of the most intriguing modern gemstones. Discovered in 1967, Tanzanite is only found in a 4km strip of land, making it one of the rarest gemstones on earth.
In addition, Tanzanite is one of the only trichroic gemstones, meaning it can display three colors within the same gemstone - blue, violet and/or red.
Tanzanite Metaphysical Properties
Since its discovery, Tanzanite has been connected with celebrations of new life and new beginnings. It is said to awaken the heart and mind - placing the mind's genius under the command of the heart's wisdom.
