The surprising fact unknown by most is that the Citrine colors people are familiar with are not the true colors of natural, untreated Citrine! Rather, the vast majority of Citrine is actually heat-treated Amethyst or Smoky Quartz.
Untreated, Citrine ranges from almost transparent to having a translucent yellow hue. I use only untreated Citrine stones for my handmade jewelry. Enjoy the true colors of Citrine!
